The daughter-in-law is not obligated to serve his parents as an Islaamic ruling as such and there's no sin on her if she doesn’t.
But if she does that, that's going to count as sadaqah or charity for her.
It's something *mustahabb* or recommended and *liked* in Islaam.
That's because if she treats his parents kindly, her husband will be happy, of course and will have love and respect for his wife and her status will be elevated in his eyes.

And have love for them and treat them kindly.
There is definitely wisdom in this outlook and harmony and overall benefit in following the culture or times.
But she does not ‘have’ to do anything for them.
It’s the husband’s responsibility
