468. Bring The Children In The House When Evening Comes

By Asma Bint Shameem

The Prophet sal Allaahu Alayhi wa sallam said:
“When the wings of the night spread  – or when evening comes – keep your children in, for the devils come out at that time.
Then when part of the night has passed, let them go....”
[al-Bukhaari (3280) and Muslim (2012)]

So when Maghrib comes, we should bring the children inside.
Once some time has passed they can be out if there’s a need for it.
But this applies only to young children and not to adults.

Shaikh Assim al-Hakeem said:
“Not going out at maghrib is only for unattended small kids but if an adult is accompanying them then there’s no problem in sha Allaah.”

And Allaah knows best
