The Prophet salallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam is reported to have said:
The best supplication
is that of the day of 'Arafah, and the best that I have said and Prophet's
before me is: 'There is no god but Allah, alone, having no partner. Sovereignty
is His, and [ all ] praise is His and He has ability over all things.
On the day of 'Arafah
the Messenger of Allah salallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam declared Allah's greatness (
takbeer) His uniqueness and Unity ( tahleel ) and offered supplications between
thuhr and Magrib.
Therefore on this day
every pilgrim should supplicate with full attention and solitude. He should
keep himself busy reading Qur'an. beseeching Allah, and seeking his
forgiveness.
He should call out the talbiyah, pray for himself and others, and invoke Allah's blessing upon the Prophet salallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam.
