63. The 10th of Dhul-Hijjah : Eid day - The Day Of Sacrifice

1.The pilgrim should go directly to the largest jamrat ( jamrat al-Aqabah) upon reaching Mina.

2. After sunrise he should throw seven pebbles at this jamrat saying, "Allahu Akbar" each time he throws a pebble. He should stop reciting the talbiyah at the commencement of stoning.

3. The pilgrim should then slaughter the sacrificial animal either in Mina or in Makkah.

4. Afterwards he should get his head shaved or hair cut short. Shaving is preferable for men.

5. He should then remove the ihram garments. With the exception of marital relations, all other restrictions of the state of ihram are then lifted.

6. The pilgrim should go to Makkah and perform tawaf al-ifadhah [without observing ramal or idhtiba] and offer two rak'ahs after tawaf. This tawaf is an essential part of Hajj. Without it ones hajj is incomplete. It may be delayed, however, out of necessity. Following tawaf and two rak'ahs of prayer one should drink Zamzam water and pour it on his head.

7. Since the pilgrim is performing the hajj at-tamattu' form of hajj he should perform Sa'i between as- Safa and al-Marwah after the tawaf.

8. At that point all of the restrictions of the state of a ihram cease .

9. One should then return to Mina and spend the night there.
