After slaughtering the sacrificial animals the Prophet
salallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam had his head shaved and nails cut.
Then he supplicated to Allah three times to forgive those who had their head shaved and once for those who had their cut short.
Women are forbidden to shave their heads. They should only cut the ends of their hair about one inch.
It is preferable that men who are performing hajj al-tamattu shorten their hair upon performing umrah and then shave their heads on the 10th of Dhul-Hijjah.
