1. After sunrise the
pilgrim should proceed to 'Arafat, calling out the talbiyah.
2. He should make a
stop at Namirah on the outskirts of the plain of 'Arafat if possible and listen
to the speech delivered by the Imam. He should then offer the congregational
prayer for thuhr and 'asr, shortening and combining them, with the
pronouncement of one Adhan and two iqamahs.
3. Afterwards he
should enter the plain of 'Arafat and facing the Qiblah ,continue supplicating
until sunset. At intervals he should continue to recite the talbiyah. One must
be certain that he is actually within the boundaries of 'Arafat. For if he did
not stand within the boundaries some time between magrib and fajr of the 10th
of Dhul-Hijjah one's Hajj is invalid and cannot be ransomed.
4. The pilgrim should
not fast on the day of 'Arafat on the contrary he should eat and drink.
5. After sunset
without offering the Maghrib prayer the pilgrim should leave 'Arafat for
Muzdalifah with calmness and dignity. It is not permissible to depart before
sunset.
6. Upon reaching
Muzdalifah he should offer the Maghrib and 'isha' prayers together with the
pronouncement of one Azan and two iqamah. The 'Isha' prayer is shortened 2
rak'ahs.
7. In Muzdalifah he
should pass the night resting and not offer any supererogatory prayers.
8. Weak family members
, women, children and sick people accompanied by Mahram can be sent ahead from
Muzdalifah to Mina at night.
9. The pilgrim should
offer the fajr prayer in congregation at Muzdalifah.
10. After the fajr
prayer he should proceed to Al Mash 'ar al-Haram or any suitable place and
facing the qiblah he should supplicate to Allah and say, "Allahu Akbar." " La ilaha Ill-Allah," and other word of remembrance
until the daylight is clear.
11. The pilgrim should
leave Muzdalifah before sunrise.
12. On the way to Mina
he should pick up seven small pebbles for the first stoning. It is prohibited
to throw large stones or other objects at the pillars.
